Gabrielle Union, Oprah and Pharrell Among Ebony 's 2014 Power 100 List

The 29th annual list spotlights African-Americans who've made outstanding achievements in their fields.

Ebony has released its 29th annual Power 100 list and the honorees include some familiar faces who've gone above and beyond in their fields, including Oprah Winfrey, Pharrell Williams, LeBron James, Gabrielle Union and Shonda Rhimes. Music icon, magazine founder and entrepreneur Quincy Jones is set to receive the Ebony Achievement Award. The Power 100 list recognizes African-Americans who've changed the game in their industries and made a lasting impact across business, medicine, sports, entertainment, media, religion and more.

"The Ebony team is very excited to recognize the accomplishments of the honorees on this year's Power 100 list," said Mitzi Miller, editor-in-chief of Ebony. "From grassroots to the corporate boardrooms, all of the selected individuals have made a significant impact on both African-American and American cultures. They are truly an inspiration to keep striving."

In addition to including this year's Power 100 list, Ebony's December issue will discuss the topic of race relations in America with opinions on why it still matters and online videos of interviews with leaders like Melissa Harris-Perry, Dr. Cornel West and Rev. Al Sharpton.

"Normally, our December issue is dedicated to the biggest achievers of the year," Miller said. "However, throughout 2014, the issue of race has been an ongoing conversation. Ebony is taking it a step further and encouraging results-driven conversations on the issues."

A gala celebration for the honorees will take place in Los Angeles on November 19. For the entire list of honorees, click here.
