Tyler Perry has been adjusting to parenthood and according to the director, it’s been quite the learning curve. Perry, who welcomed his first child in November with longtime girlfriend Gelila Bekele, admitted that Bekele has been doing most of the work these days because they’ve decided not to hire any extra hands. The Grio caught up with him on the red carpet during the premiere of Selma and asked him how he was handling first-time fatherhood at 45 years old.

"I wish I could say that I’m up all night, but [Gelila] is doing a lot of work," Perry said. "She’s a great mother who just wants to be there for the baby. We have no nannies, we have no help. She wants to do it all. So we’re doing it all. I’m getting a little sleep, but she’s not getting any."

Perry also revealed his little boy’s name: Aman!
