Words of Wisdom: In celebration of Father’s Day, BET Networks sat down with some of your favorite stars to learn more about the advice they received from their fathers and the advice they offer their own children.

Coby Bell’s dad always encouraged him to believe in himself, while Hosea Chanchez’s grandfather constantly reminded him, “Do right and right will follow you.”

For Bill Bellamy, it’s important for him to teach his kids the important lesson of trying new things and to reinforce that if and when you fall, it’s okay as longs as you get back up and don’t quit. And for his daughters, Kirk Franklin leads by example, treating his wife and the mother of his children with love and respect, telling his own daughters that any man they’re with better treat them just as good.
