Gloria Govan’s friends and the public might have been saddened and shocked when she and Matt Barnes decided to part ways last October, but she assures us that it was “harder on other people” than it was on her. In a recent interview with Hip Hop Hollywood, the Basketball Wives star said that her experience living in the spotlight has made this breakup easier than past ones.
“My entire relationship was really in the public,” she said. “Not that it was easy, but it was easier this time around. I’ve kind of dialed it down in the social media aspect of it; I’m not posting things or tweeting. I’m just kind of letting it ride out.”
It also sounds like she had seen their end coming and perhaps was bracing for when that moment finally arrived.
“My relationship with Matt is so up and down I don’t think a lot of people were surprised. They were just like ‘Oh, OK, yeah. In six months you guys will be fine.’ I think it was harder on other people than it was on me.”
The couple have a set of twins, but Govan was hesitant to say whether she and Barnes will try to repair the marriage.
“I’m not fortunetelling, I don’t know what’s going to happen in the future,” she said.
