The White House

The most famous address is also perhaps home to some of the country's most famous ghost stories. Stories of the ghost of President Abraham Lincoln, who was assassinated in 1865, appearing in the White House in Washington, D.C., stretch as far back as the 1920s. Often wearing his signature top hat, Honest Abe has allegedly been seen peering out a window of the Oval Office and his footsteps heard pacing around the upper level of the White House, among other strange occurrences.
