Bow Wow isn’t biting his tongue for anyone in 2010. The pint-sized prince is currently under fire for the release of his latest street offering, “The Greenlight 2” mixtape, which was released several days ago.
Via his Twitter account, Bow Weezy has been keeping his fans updated on the number of downloads the project’s received since being released via the world wide web. Bow even urged several hip-hop outlets to review the project. In one of his tweets, the rapper snapped at the XXL staff’s Twitter account, “Stop posting that bullsh*t. Put that #Greenlight2 up. 1.1 million downloads in less than 24 hours.”
Critics took aim at Bow's tweet, claiming he was taking shots at Talib Kweli’s newest mixtape, “Reflection Eternal: The RE: Union,” since the tape was posted on XXL's Twitter account at the time of Bow's tweet. He quickly responded saying he was speaking on a new song posted from the Ying Yang Twins and that Talib serves as one of his hip-hop mentors.
After 24 hours, Bow claims the effort was downloaded over one million times. Critics swiftly jumped at the Ohio native’s claims, stating the numbers were fixed. Again, Bow took to Twitter to respond.
“I asked @DJDrama to do my tape, but he said no," he tweeted. "I’m used to the doubt. How I answer? Two million downloads in less than 2 days co*k suckers.”
“I chose @DJDrama because I’m a fan and respect his movement," he continued. "And still is. But I don’t kiss a**. I’m grown.”
DJ Drama later joined in on the conversation inquiring about his name being mentioned during the rant. The two later discussed the issue behind closed Twitter doors via Direct Messages.
