Artists Have Hope For Haiti

Published January 22, 2010

The audacity of hope! Celebrities came together on Friday, Jan. 22 to help raise money to benefit Haiti in the wake of a devastating earthquake that has claimed thousands of lives. Jay-Z, Rihanna, Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson and others performed live from London, New York and Los Angeles as part of Hope For Haiti Now's telethon.

Organized by George Clooney and Wyclef Jean, Hopeforhaitinow.org brought together a diverse blend of artists, actors, and musicians who performed or answered phone lines.

Jennifer Hudson performed a powerful rendition of Paul McCartney's "Let It Be," while another songstress, Beyonce, stuck to her own music, singing "Halo."

Rihannna performed alongside Jay-Z and Bono. The trio collaborated on an original song, entitled "Stranded."

Wyclef Jean, who is a Haitian American, talked about being in Haiti last week and pulling bodies out of the rubble.

All songs from the concert will be available on itunes.com.
