Fantasia Receives Threatening Letter After The Color Purple Performance

After performing in “The Color Purple” at L.A.’s Pantages Theater, former "American Idol" winner Fantasia Barrino received a disturbing letter from an individual who claims he was employed by Fox during her "American Idol" days.

Fantasia was in her dressing room looking through fan mail when she came across the unsettling letter filled with racial slurs that not only included the n-word, but told Barrino to “go back where you came from and die.”

Sources close to the case told TMZ that the letter’s author was a former security guard for Fox during her days at "American Idol." It’s unclear whether or not Fantasia knew the individual.

Fantasia told the security personnel from the theater, who in turn reached out to the LAPD. Pantages Theater has since increased security awareness around Fantasia and will begin to screen any objects sent to Barrino’s dressing room.

Keeping in high spirits, Fantasia told TMZ.com, “I will not be defeated by one isolated person’s hatred.”
