Eight Teens Shot During Waka Flocka Concert In Gary, Indiana

Published March 10, 2010

Eight teens were wounded when gunfire erupted at a popular skating rink in Gary, Indiana following a Waka Flocka performance.

Police Captain Gabrielle King told the Post-Tribune, “all chaos broke lose” when a fight broke out during the event at Skate World. Security instructed concert-goers to vacate the premises as things began to escalate.

Marquel Croock, 16, who was shot in the stomach with a rifle, revealed that his assailant was sporting a red hat and dreadlocks. Police are still investigating what triggered the stream of violence, but believe it stems from bad blood between two rival neighborhoods.

Shaquille Hughes, 15, was shot in the right side; Marcus Ratliff, 14, was hit in his right wrist; Justin Bodley, 16, was shot in the leg; Junan Washington, 18, was shot in the left ankle; DaVonte Biddings, 16, was shot once in the back; and Kesean Philon, 14, and Stephan Danzy, 17, were both shot in the leg.

Waka Flocka was not injured during the shooting.
