Several months after finishing an eight-year jail sentence for his involvement in a club shooting in 1999, Brooklyn MC Shyne has reportedly inked a seven-figure deal with Def Jam Records.

According to HOT 97 radio personality Miss Info, Shyne and Def Jam are in the final stages of negotiating a record deal. Since Shyne’s release, there’s been much chatter about a bidding war involving Interscope boss Jimmy Iovine, Dr. Dre and many others. Shyne opted to return to Def Jam, the label that housed his Gangland imprint from 2004 to 2005.  

Since Shyne's been deported to from the U.S., he will reportedly work out of London.  At press time, Shyne and Def Jam have yet to speak on the deal.
