Music still matters in 2010. BET Networks is set to launch a new campaign entitled Music Matters, which showcases musically-inclined artists poised to become tomorrow's stars.
BET will air 30 to 60 second vignettes on the featured artists while the online extension will provide additional information, including extended clips, music videos and photos, among other things.
Nneka, a Nigerian-German musician will be the first artist to be featured in the MM campaign. “You have afro-beats, transitional music and different types of tribes," Nneka told BET when speaking of Nigerian music. "We have over 8,000 tribes so you can imagine how diverse the music is. But the main music that is world know, is afro-beats.”
