The rapper was honored by Wayne's remake.
It's not everyday that a new rapper can say they've actually been acknowledged by Lil' Wayne. For Wiz Khalifa, however, that day came last week when Wayne released a freestyle where he remade Wiz's infectious chart-topper "Black And Yellow" into a SuperBowl anthem, this one for the Green Bay Packers, titled "Green And Yellow."
"I actually thought it was real cool when he did his version," the Pittsburgh MC told MTV.com. "Just seeing that he even heard the song, A, and then knew how to rap to it." Wayne, who is from New Orleans, told ESPN that he was actually a Packers fan. Khalifa's version had originally been turned into an anthem for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Wiz Khalifa is gearing up to release the video to his next single "Roll Up." The video was shot last week in Venice, California and will feature R&B singer Cassie opposite Wiz as the lead. Wiz was actually rumored to be dating hip hop hottie, Amber Rose. His major label debut album Rolling Papers will hit stores on March 29.
