The Young Money star says a project could be released as early as this year.
In a new on-camera interview with Sway, Lil Wayne speaks on a hot topic that has rivaled his own upcoming album, The Carter IV, in terms of fan anticipation: a joint album with Drake.
"That right there has always been in the making. We've always been in the studio, we've always been having conversations about 'Let's do something together, let's do an album together," Wayne said of his superstar protege.
According to Wayne, he and Drake have been holding off due to Wayne's other high profile tag-teams with T-Pain as "T-Wayne" and with Birdman on the "Like Father, Like Son" projects.
Asked if the album would see the light of day this year, Wayne said a late 2011 release is possible, presuming he and Drake work hard enough. That sounds pretty sketchy to us, but making it happen is certainly worth the effort.
