North Carolina MC Petey Pablo plead guilty to possession of a stolen firearm on March 16.
On Wednesday, the artist, born Moses Barrett III, appeared in federal court to enter his guilty plea, according to the Associated Press. Federal prosecutors agreed to drop two additional charges in a plea agreement.
Pablo’s was arrested in 2010 at Raleigh-Durham International Airport when security found a loaded gun in a bag that had passed through an X-ray machine. Pablo, who’s best known for his song “Freek-a-Leek,” asserted that he wasn’t aware of the firearm but was charged with possession of a stolen firearm, carrying a concealed weapon and attempting to take a gun onto an aircraft.
The rapper faces sentencing in June and could face up to 10 years in prison.
