Grammy winner Jill Scott has never been afraid to let us know who she is, and now the vocalist, writer, poet and actress is paying tribute to her roots with the new album The Light of the Sun.

While shooting the video for the song "Shame" at her childhood recreation center in Philadelphia, Scott explained to CNN that she will always remember where she came from. "You don't have to go far away just because you've accomplished something in your life...I'm still here."

The "Shame" video features fellow Philly natives Black Thought of the Roots, Mos Def and EVE, who also contributed a verse to the track. The Light of the Sun, Scott's fourth record, is due out later this year.
