The artist who amazed the Black Girls Rock! audience with her powerful vocals drops the first song off her upcoming album.
Ever since singer Ledisi belted out "My name is Peaches!" onstage next to Jill Scott, Kelly Price and Marsha Ambrosius at BET's Black Girls Rock! show last year, fans have anxiously awaited for her next album.
Today, Ledisi premiered her new single "Pieces of Me" on her Facebook page. Written by Ledisi and produced by Chuck Harmony, the song will be available on iTunes next Tuesday, April 5, while the album of the same title is due out in June.
In a statement, Ledisi talked about her upcoming album. "Before I started working on this album, I had to figure out what I wanted to offer, not only musically, but also spiritually and mentally. That meant I had to finally embrace the totality of me. Now, I know that I am a great woman and I have much to offer to this world.”
The Grammy-nominated singer is currently on the Intimacy tour alongside Kem and Musiq Soulchild.
