Seventeen years after the release of her classic sophomore album, the Queen returns with My Life II.
Mary J. Blige has announced a date for her upcoming 10th studio album. On September 20, she will release My Life II: The Journey Continues, a sequel to the album that solidified her position as the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul.
"It's a gift to be able to relate and identify with my fans at all times," Blige told Billboard Magazine earlier this week. "This album is a reflection of the times and lives of people all around me."
The video for the first single "Someone To Love Me (Naked)" was released this week and features longtime collaborator Diddy as well as Lil Wayne. The song's sound is reminiscent of Mary's earlier music. The upcoming album features production from Kanye West, Swizz Beatz, Danja and Stargate. Mary is currently in the studio, both in New York and Los Angeles.
