Nine hours. Sixteen minutes. 22 seconds. That's how long Chidera "Chiddy" Anamege freestyled to set a new record in the Guiness World Records. Chiddy, one half of the rap group Chiddy Bang, began his rhyme yesterday at MTV's O Music Awards and beat out the record that was formerly held by Indianapolis rapper M-Eighty.

After his performance, Chiddy tweeted a message to his followers. "Feel crazy right now thx for all the support yall the s--t! Cudnt did it without y'all for real."

Before the freestyle, the rapper talked about his strategy. "It's a marathon, not a race. It's all about pacing yourself. I tend to be very, very hype when I rap. This time, I realize I'm gonna rap for like nine hours, so I'm not gonna come out of the gate hyped. I'm just gonna pace myself and ride that thing out, ride it till the wheels fall off," he told MTV.com.

Congratulations to the MC.
