Pop supergroup the Black Eyed Peas are planning to give fans in New York City a free Central Park concert this summer. The show will benefit the Robin Hood Foundation, a charity organization that helps fight New York’s war on poverty. 

“We are thrilled to follow in the footsteps of icons such as Simon & Garfunkel and Diana Ross by performing a free concert for our fans in Central Park,” Fergie said in a statement. “But more importantly, we are performing to benefit Robin Hood’s efforts to help those living in poverty in New York with the launch of our Peapod Academy."

As previously reported, the BEP are also planning Peapod, a music academy in Manhattan for underprivileged youths. 

Fans interested in attending the concert for free must register online beginning May 11 to be entered into the random drawing of 54,000 free tickets. Otherwise VIP tickets will be available for purchase online. For more information, visit www.robinhood.org.
