The rumor mill may be churning, but the head of T.I.’s Grand Hustle Records says the label is still going strong. “Number one, Grand Hustle is definitely not dismantled, we unfortunately did downsize and relocate. We’re doing business, just in a lighter way. A smarter way, due to our current situation,” Geter says of the label, which is distributed by Atlantic Records. “It’s no secret we’ve taken hits, back to back, with Tip’s absence. We’re partners, we talk about everything, no matter if he’s in or he’s out. It’s Grand Hustle, so we communicate with one another.”

There have been slowdowns across the industry, as the economy contracts and technology changes the process. But things are looking up; Grand Hustle recently added Pac Div to its management roster, and their artists, who include Killer Mike, Young Dro and Dee-1, are on a nationwide tour.
