Heavyweights join to celebrate life of slain emcee.
For the third year in a row, comedian Mike Epps will join with Afeni Shakur to host a celebration of the slain emcee’s life; this year’s concert will commemorate what would have been Tupac’s 40th birthday. It will be held at the Atlanta Symphony Hall on June 16th, which is not only Tupac’s birthday, but Dekalb County’s official Tupac Day. The city is significant, as it is the home base for the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation for the Arts, which was founded by his mom, Afeni, and will benefit from ticket sales.
There will be performances from headliner Erykah Badu, as well as Too $hort, Roy Ayers, Bun B, 8 Ball and MJG, and Eric Roberson. Find out more about the show and buy tickets at 16ofJune.com.
