Students who didn't show up for class at Chicago's Collins Academy High School yesterday [May 19] are probably salty right now. Young Money rapper Nicki Minaj made a surprise appearance at the high school to play “Principal for the Day” as a part of the "Get MotivatED Challenge" - an attempt to boost attendance.

According to HipHopDX, Nicki, accompanied by MTV News' Sway, addressed the student body and taught an English class.

"I am a young, female mogul before I am an artist," Minaj told students. "As a business woman there isn't a single day where I don't use my education or acquire new knowledge to ensure my success. Regardless of where you are today, with education you can take yourself where you want to be. That's why I am working the Get Schooled Foundation. They are finding innovative and exciting ways to bring that message to schools like Collins Academy."

Three students at the academy were awarded with $10,000 scholarships.
