George Clinton Hospitalized With Staph Infection

Leg injury may interrupt scheduled festival appearance.

A routine check-up ended in bad news for George Clinton, the legendary frontman for the '70's funk group Parliament/Funkadelic.

According to TMZ, Clinton has been hospitalized for a staph infection in his leg. The infection was detected during a routine check-up.

A rep for the 69-year-old singer assured fans that there was no need for concern, stating, "He will be just fine. Thank you for all your prayers and concerns."

As previously reported, Clinton is expected to perform at the B.O.M.B. Festival in Hartford, Connecticut, this weekend. No word on whether or not the hospitalization will affect his scheduled appearance.
