Adele Cancels Five Tour Dates

A sudden case of laryngitis forces the singer to reschedule a few performances.

Singer Adele is canceling five of her tour dates due to a sudden case of laryngitis. Currently on her sold-out North American tour, the British singer announced, via her Web site, that she was devastated.

"I’ve been told to cancel tonight's show in Minneapolis because my voice has gone. I hate to cancel especially at such short notice," she said on Thursday, May 26, before knowing she would have to cancel more dates. "I’m here in the city and tried to do soundcheck at the venue, but if I push through it tonight, it’ll take me longer to get better and more shows may need canceling. Please forgive me!"

Yesterday, Adele's management team confirmed more canceled dates, per her doctor's orders. In addition to the Minneapolis concert, she's had to postpone shows in Portland, Seattle, Vancouver and Salt Lake City. All dates are being rescheduled. If all goes well, Adele will get back on the road on June 4.
