Performers come together for charity.
On June 9, 2011, the Black Eyed Peas, LL Cool J, MC Hammer and others will throw a free concert on the Great Lawn in New York City’s Central Park. During the show, audience members will be asked to donate to the Robin Hood Foundation and the Black Eyed pea’s Peapod Academy via txt message.
“We are thrilled to follow in the footsteps of icons such as Simon & Garfunkel and Diana Ross by performing a free concert for our fans in Central Park,” Fergie said in a statement. “But more importantly, we are performing to benefit Robin Hood’s efforts to help those living in poverty in New York City and to help disadvantaged youth in New York with the launch of our Peapod Academy.”
All 54,000 tickets have already been distributed, but VIP passes are still available for purchase. Click here for a chance to win two tix. One hundred percent of proceeds will go to the two charities.
