The hip hop icon thanks fans for their support.
Known for shying away from the spotlight, it seems as if legendary rapper and R&B artist Lauryn Hill, who's only recently stepped back into the limelight, is preparing to go on another musical hiatus. Hill wrote a letter to her fans today, June 8, thanking them for their continued support, apologizing for her tardiness at recent shows and hinting that her pregnancy has been the cause for interrupted performances.
The letter, sent from Ms. Hill's Twitter account, read:
Greetings faithful fans and friends,
Coming back home after several months of extensive reconnecting with supporters and music lovers. We thank you for your continued appreciation. The majority of these dates were planned in advance of me knowing about the continued growth of my family (wink, wink). There were some shows that we started late. We apologize and thank you for your patience. That said, I can't wait to re-engage with you and give you a musical experience worth coming back for. Let's do it real soon.

As previously reported, Hill recently announced to fans at a Detroit show that she is expecting her sixth child. Although there's no word on when the baby is due, Hill is ending her tour to make time to give birth. She's still expected to appear at scheduled Rock the Bells dates in Los Angeles (August 20), San Francisco (August 27) and New York (September 3).
