Rumors stating that Gucci Mane had been released from prison this weekend turned out to be false. But although a look through the Fulton County Sheriff's department inmate search site revealed that the rapper remains behind bars, MTV reports that he'll be freed later this week. Mane, whose real name is Radric Davis, has been serving time in Georgia since April for shoving a female passenger from his moving vehicle as well as probation violation charges.

These haven't been the only times Mane has had issues with the law as many of his album titles reflect. In 2005, he narrowly escaped a murder charge due to insufficient evidence. He's also served on assault and drug possession charges and dealt with minor traffic offenses. So let's hope that when he's released this time, he's out for good and looks for music inspiration elsewhere.
