Beyoncé Sends Morning Message to Space Shuttle Crew
Just in case you needed more proof that Beyoncé’s fame has reached stratospheric heights, on Monday, she delivered a wake-up message to the crewmembers on the Space Shuttle Atlantis. The message features her “Run the World (Girls)” playing, before Beyoncé cheers on the team as they complete the U.S.’s final shuttle flight to the International Space Station. The message says: “Good morning Atlantis. This is Beyoncé. Sandy, Chris, Doug and Rex, you inspire all of us to dare to live our dreams, to know that we're smart enough and strong enough to achieve this. This song is especially for my girl Sandy and all the women who’ve taken us to space with them, and the girls who are our future explorers.”
Astronaut Sandy Magnus replied to the recorded message: “And good morning, Houston, and a big thanks to Beyoncé for taking some time out of her schedule to record us a greeting, and we’re ready for another day here on Atlantis. And hopefully we as a team at NASA can keep our inspirational work up for the young people of America.”
