Avid hip hop fans who have been starving for a second single from Jay-Z and Kanye West’s soon-to-come album, Watch the Throne, got a soulful helping last night (July 20). New York radio jock DJ Funkmaster Flex did the honors playing the latest cut from the duo,  “Otis.”

The Yeezy-produced track includes a sample from legendary soul singer Otis Redding (“Try A Little Tenderness”).  As Redding’s chopped vocals funk up the track, Ye and Jay match his soul with their grimy, street-influenced rhymes.

They even make reference to Audio Two’s classic hit, “Top Billin’.”

“Jay is chillin’, Ye is chillin’, what more can I say, we killin’ ‘em,” they rapped.

The swag on this track is on high; and it’s quite clear that the pair have resurrected the soul-sampled sound that they mastered on Jay's classic album, Blueprint.

Watch The Throne hits the Internet August 1st. But for those who’d rather have a hard copy, head to your local record store on August 5th.
