Vibe magazine has unveiled its August/September issue, and it's the late Amy Winehouse who graces the cover. An outpouring of love and support for Winehouse, who was found dead in her London apartment on Saturday, has kept the UK soul singer in the headlines this week and propelled her once more to the top 10 on the Billboard album charts. Vibe is paying homage to her tumultuous yet influential life.
In the issue, Salaam Remi, Winehouse's longtime producer and friend, talks about his plans to attend a wedding with the singer last weekend and the progress they had made on her album.
"They went ahead with the wedding. All I could do was sit there and imagine how many jokes she would have been cracking with me. We were in the middle of working on the album. She finished writing the record. We just hadn’t recorded," he says.
The special issue, which is the publications 16 annual Juice issue, comes with two covers, R&B siren Kelly Rowland appears on the other. You can pick it up on newsstands August 16.
