Miami rap star Trina will be using her talents to serve a good cause this weekend, headlining a block party in Philadelphia with the stated goal of promoting non-violence.
The 4th annual "Unity in the Community" bash will take place on Saturday July 30 and feature free food, celebrity appearances and a fashion show.
The city's state representative Kenyatta Johnson made a statement supporting the community's efforts to curb youth violence.
"This epidemic that’s killing our youth also kills potential, and we have to stop making excuses and start creating solutions,” she said.
The party, themed "A Call For Peace," goes from 3 to 8 PM. Trina, who released the mixtape Diamonds Are Forever earlier this year, is currently working on her sixth album.
