Drake to Be Honored at Canada's Walk of Fame Awards

The Toronto-bred star is recognized for musical achievements.

Canada plans to show love to its native son Drake, with a rare honor at their upcoming Walk of Fame Awards. The Young Money rapper will receive the prestigious Allan Slaight Award at this year's ceremony. As one of the few young recipients to receive this award over the years, Drake expressed his gratitude for the honor.

"I am a proud Canadian, and I am grateful to Canada's Walk of Fame and the Slaight Foundation for this award," he said in a statement.

According to AllHipHop.com
, the Young Money rapper will also receive a $10,000 honorarium along with the award that he plans to give to Dixon Hall, a Toronto-based community service organization dedicated to fighting poverty.

A date for the ceremony has yet to be announced.

In the mean time, Drake continues to work on his sophomore album, Take Care, expected in stores October 24.
