Forbes Names Jay-Z and Beyoncé Music's Highest-Paid Couple
In today's edition of Tell Us Something We Didn't Already Know, Forbes magazine has named Jay-Z and Beyoncé music's highest-paid couple.
The money mag estimated the power couple's earnings at a whopping $72 million over the past year. Bey reportedly pulled in $35 million, on the strength of strong album sales, stronger tour revenues, her Dereon clothing line, and huge endorsements deals with L'Oreal, DirecTV, General Mills and other brands. Hov, who the magazine also recently dubbed hip-hop's highest earner, cashed in to the tune of $37 million, through his 10-year $150 million Live Nation deal and his ownership stakes in the New Jersey Nets, 40/40 Club chain and ad firm Translation.
Forbes says the deal makes "Jayoncé" the second highest-earning celeb couple in the world, behind only supermodel Gisele Bundchen and NFL mega-star/hair-flipper Tom Brady, who earned $117 million. If anything, Forbes is giving Jay and Bey something to strive for.
