Lil Boosie has been incarcerated on charges of first–degree murder for over a year, but it looks like things could be worse for the rapper than was previously known. Since incurring new violations for multiple attempts to smuggle contraband into Louisiana's Angola prison in June, Boosie has been in 23-hour-per day solitary confinement, according to his mother.
Connie Hatch, mother to the 28-year-old Boosie, born Torrence Hatch, told OnWaxMagazine.com that her son's lockdown prohibits him from interacting with or contacting anyone except his legal counsel. To add insult to injury, Ms. Hatch says that, with the exception of Young Jeezy, Boosie's hip hop colleagues have largely forgotten him.
“No. Not one. Not one rapper. The only person I have spoken with is Young Jeezy,” she said. “I heard from him but he hasn’t done anything as of yet. But the rest of them, you hear from them, but when you call them, they know my number so they don’t respond. My child was not like that. He gave to everybody.”
Ms. Hatch said that even Boosie's closest associates, including Webbie and other members of Trill Entertainment, have failed to show their support. She said her son and his family haven't seen any proceeds from Free Boosie concerts purportedly held to raise funds for the troubled rapper.
"We haven’t reaped any money from any Free Boosie Concerts," she said. "Not any. Not even his children. They have people thinking that this concert is being sponsored to help Torrance. I contacted them about nine months ago and one of the guys told me it’s not true. But I found out because I received flyers from people in different states."
