Drake Stays Out of Lil Wayne/Jay-Z Beef

The Weezy protégé says he hadn't heard his boss' Jay-Z diss when he recorded his own verse to "I'm Good."

Jadakiss isn't the only one keeping his hands off the simmering beef between Jay-Z and Lil Wayne. Drake is also now claiming he didn't know that Weezy would end up using "I'm Good" to attack Hov.
This past weekend, at the BMI Awards, MTV News caught up with the Toronto MC and asked him about "I'm Good," a song off his mentor Lil Wayne's just-released Tha Carter IV featuring Drake, Jadakiss and a seering verse from Weezy that takes not-so-subtle shots at Jay-Z. Much like Jadakiss, who tweeted about the song after it leaked last week, Drake said he hadn't yet heard Wayne's verse when he recorded his own.

“I just got a beat and did a verse over it,” said Drake (click the video above to see for yourself). “Whatever any other individual has to say, you have to ask the man himself. I just did what I know how to do: I just got on a record. I heard the beat, did a verse and heard the final product.”
The beef between Jay-Z and Lil Wayne certainly puts Drake in a tight spot. Drizzy is signed to Lil Wayne's Young Money label, but he also recruited Hov for "Light Up" off his major label debut Thank Me Later, and the two have frequently performed onstage at each others' concerts. But will Wayne see Drake's neutrality as disloyalty?
