See what happens when you take your eyes off the throne? Lil Wayne will be popping champagne...er, Red Bull when his new album, The Carter IV, outsells Jay-Z's and Kanye West's Watch the Throne, as is projected by Grantland.

The Carter IV, which dropped at midnight on Sunday night, just hours after Lil Wayne rocked the stage at the VMAs, is expected to sell anywhere from 700,000 to 850,000 copies this week. That's nearly double the number (436,000) Watch the Throne sold in its first week, and puts The Carter IV second-highest in first week sales all year, behind only Lady Gaga's Born This Way.
