Just this week Steve Stoute, one of the most successful businessmen to start his career in the hip-hop industry, released his first book, The Tanning of America: How Hip-Hop Created a Culture That Rewrote the Rules of the New Economy. Check out our exclusive interview with the author.
To go along with the book's release, Stoute is developing a web series in partership with AOL/HuffPost Media Group to bring fans and audiences an even closer look at "The Tanning of America." He's called in a number of his A-list friends and clients to talk about the various ways that they've seen hip-hop influence economic trends in America. The series trailer features segments with Lady Gaga, Jimmy Iovine and Pharrell. Remember when reps from Cristal champagne said they didn't make it for black people? Well Jay speaks on that.
