The Red Bull Music Academy World Tour 2011 is bringing music education and massive concerts around the world, with shows from Paris to Cape Town to Melbourne and everywhere in between. Stateside, the tour will touch down in New York City, with “Five Out of Five,” which will highlight five iconic albums, one from each borough.

The albums and boroughs are: Slick Rick’s The Great Adventures Of Slick Rick (1988, Bronx), Black Moon’s Enta Da Stage (1993, Brooklyn), Wu-Tang Clan’s Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) (1993, Staten Island), Mobb Deep’s The Infamous (1995, Queens) and Dipset’s Diplomatic Immunity (2003, Manhattan).

The NYC leg of the tour, which runs September 25 thorough September 30, will feature one discussion with the artists about the recording of their albums and one live performance of said album each day. Discussions are free, and concerts (which will be performed in the appropriate boroughs) range from $15 to $20.
