Outkast fans have been pining for a new album from the blockbuster group since 2006's Idlewild soundtrack.  Now comes a report that the Andre 3000 and Big Boi may sign a new record deal at Sony's Epic Records under new chairman LA Reid.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Reid, who took over as Epic chairman in July after a career shake-up that saw him leave Island Def Jam and join Simon Cowell as a judge on Fox's upcoming show The X Factor, is trying to recruit Outkast in an attempt to remake the once great label.

Outkast and Reid have a long history together, as the veteran record executive signed the legendary duo to their first deal in 1994 while running Laface Records. Reid is reportedly also eying Ciara, another Atlanta-native and LaFace alumn, for an Epic deal. The R&B star recently had a messy working relationship with her former label, Jive.
