DJ Irie launches DJ Academy At Sea

DJ Irie already reaches thousands of revelers on a regular basis as the official DJ of the Miami Heat, but soon the celebrity spinner will be targeting an all-new audience on all new terrain as the chief instructor of a first-of-its-kind DJ academy at sea.

The academy, dubbed DJ Irie Spin'versity, is a partnership with Carnival Cruise Lines and will train DJs to perform on the company's various cruises.

“Miami Heat games are known for their high-energy and non-stop fun created by DJ Irie and we want to tap into his unique skills and passion for music to create an unforgettable atmosphere on board,” said Mark Tamis, Carnival’s senior vice president of guest operations in a statement.

Graduates of Irie's academy will spin during deck parties, in the atrium during embarkation, poolside, and at other venues around the ship, in addition to the nightclubs. With the NBA potentially headed toward a lockout this season, the new gig will keep Irie from developing a case of idle hands.
