Adele is having the musical career year of a lifetime. Her sophomore album 21 held the No. 1 spot on the charts for 11 consecutive weeks, putting her in the Guinness World Record. 21 has already sold 10 million copies in less than a year and the 23-year-old had another seven-week No. 1 reign with the first single “Rolling in the Deep.”

She’s making fellow musicians look again as she takes over the number spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 charts with “Someone Like You” for the week of October 15. The song about a past love still remembered has recharged interest in the singer/songwriter.

Her presence on the charts has shown a pattern for staying power as ”Somebody Like You” debuted as a single 12 weeks before jumping to No. 2 and then the top spot.
