Reps for the soul singer say reports are false.
Adele is scheduled to have throat surgery soon, but rumors that the 23-year-old singer/songwriter has fallen victim to throat cancer are completely false, according to a representative.
"We would like to reiterate that Adele is to undergo surgery for a hemorrhaged vocal chord," said a statement. "All reports regarding any other condition are 100 percent false."
It was revealed that Adele would be going under the knife last week, after a difficult year for the singer in which she has been forced to cancel dozens of tour dates and appearances.
"If I continue to pick up everything before i have properly conquered these problems and nipped them in the bud, I will be totally and utterly f***ed," the multi-platinum selling artist wrote on her website in October. "Singing is literally my life, it's my hobby, my love, my freedom and now my job. I have absolutely no choice but to recuperate properly and fully, or i risk damaging my voice forever."
Although she has canceled all remaining appearances for the year, Adele's vocal condition is said to be highly treatable and she plans to get back on the road in 2012.
