Flashback to May 7, 1992 and a musical-visual phenomenon is born. Before anyone knew what was happening, Sir Mix-a-Lot’s “Baby Got Back” was a number one hit, sitting on the summer’s Hot 100 chart for five weeks. It seemed to only get bigger with time as the song's intro, "I like big butts and I cannot lie," became an American catchphrase.
From movies to commercials to a Grammy win, the Seattle native, who's now 48, found fame rapping about the female derriere. To honor the song’s success, and to wish it a happy early 20th birthday, Legacy Records released a statement today introducing the new “Baby Got Back App.”
Exclusive to the iPhone and available now, the app features Sir Mix-a-Lot's Booty Calls, a Mix Makeover photo lab, a Ba Dunka Dunk club game, and a social media Text Mix.
