Nicki Minaj Fans and Cher Battle It Out on Twitter

Nicki Minaj Fans and Cher Battle It Out on Twitter. The short-lived feud started over a supposed diss on a Minaj track.

In what has to be one of the oddest feud pairings, Nicki Minaj's fans came to the rapper's defense after a song lyric had Cher mistakingly believing she was dissed.

A fan of the 65-year-old singer first alerted Cher to Minaj's Pink Friday song "Did It On 'Em" saying, "@cher did you know that b---h @NICKIMINAJ dissed you in her song DID IT ON EM." To which Cher replied, "Ive seen lots of people come & go! No biggie !"

And with that Team Minaj came out in her defense saying Cher should listen to the song before responding and explained that the lyrics were merely a rap metaphor, not a jab at the iconic artist. In the song, Minaj raps, "If you could turn back time, Cher/ You used to be here, now you’re gone, Nair."

Minaj's friend Scaff Beezy relayed a few choice words during the quick virtual fight tweeting, "yo @cher listen to the words b4 you say dumb s--t on twitter… do you know what a rap metaphore is??? TM is a cult you dont want it with!!"

Eventually Cher admitted she was in the wrong by saying, "U R right ! Someone said I was dissed..I’ve been dissed b4,but instead of finding out. ..I just got defensive ! I should know better ! Dumb" and then deleted the tweets.

Minaj only had one quick tweet to offer once she learned about what was going on.

"@Cher #stopit5"
