Rick Ross, Common, Furious Five to Perform at Grammy Special

New school rappers join rap pioneers for special performance of hip hop classic “The Message.”

Rick Ross will join an already stacked list of performers at the Grammy Nominations concert this year, and help pay tribute to a truly legendary rap group in the process. The Teflon Don will accompany Common, Lupe Fiasco and LL Cool J for a special performance of "The Message" by Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five. Original Furious Five members Melle Mel and Scorpio will join the younger trio in song.
Last week, it was announced that "The Message," one of hip hop's earliest and most referenced hit singles, will be inducted into Grammy Hall of Fame.
The hour-long nominations concert will be hosted by Uncle L and mark the unveiling of this year's Grammy nominees. Nicki Minaj and Katy Perry have been announced as presenters, while previous Grammy winners Usher, Rihanna, Lady Gaga and more will also hit the stage.
The show will air November 30 at 10 P.M. ET/PT on CBS.
