New Black Star Album in the Works?

Duo reportedly plans to record in Africa.

Nearly fourteen years after the release of their groundbreaking album Mos Def and Talib Kweli are Black Star, the duo may be finally ready for their sophomore effort. Black Star performed two shows in New York on Saturday night, joined the lineup at Rock the Bells this past summer, debuted two new tracks and announced plans for an Aretha Franklin-inspired mixtape ... giving hungry fans hope that an album may not be far behind.
"It's in the ether," says manager Corey Smyth to Billboard.biz about the possibility of a new album. "We've had a few false starts in the past, but it just feels right this time." He confirmed that the duo will be heading to Africa next year to record some new material, but didn't go as far as saying an album is imminent.

So, for now, fans can only watch and wait.
