Who says it’s not good to bring your work home? If you're R&B crooner Robin Thicke and you're married to one of the hottest actresses in Hollywood, it won't hurt to mix a little business with pleasure every now and then.

During a recent visit to BET's 106 & Park Thicke performed his latest single "Love After War" off his fifth studio album of the same the singer/songwriter credited his wife actress Paula Patton for the racy video treatment.
"She [Paula] loves French film, and she was like honey, what if we did the video based on this movie," Thicke tells BET.com about his leading lady who's also on the cover of this month’s Complex magazine.
Inspired by Jean Luc Godard's 1963 film Contempt, starring screen legend Brigitte Bordot, Patton and Thicke portray the film's hot-blooded couple who go back and forth between feelings of love, lust, and hate.
"She put on this blonde wig, and we just tried to create that tension that you have in a relationship when things aren't going right,” Thicke explains.
Evolving from his last 2009 album Sex Therapy the singer takes listeners on a journey exploring different aspects of love on his new album. Serving as a reoccurring theme throughout the project, the seasoned music veteran, who got his start penning tunes for stars like Christina Aguilera and Mya, broke down the meaning behind the album title.
"Forgiveness, and redemption in a relationship is what creates love after war," Thicke says. "The common thread between all these songs was trying to achieve love after war, whether it's the war we fight within ourselves, to believe in ourselves, and get over our fears and insecurities, or if it's the love we need after we've argued with our woman or man, and somebody's got to start the healing process."
Taking his cue from past singers who struck a chord with messages of love and war, Thicke says his new project is geared toward the uplifting of humanity as a whole.
"We all need to get into Marvin Gaye, John Lennon, Bob Marley spirit,” Thicke says. “You have to give love, to receive love."
After kicking off his six city Love After War tour in Washington, DC last month, the singer plans to go back on the road in February for the New Generation tour.
