The rapper’s no-show at New Year’s Eve concert in Angola may have led to promoter’s abduction.

When Nas failed to show up for a New Year's Eve concert in Angola last weekend, a lot more than his booking fee was at stake. Concert promoter Patrick Allocco and his son say they were abducted at gunpoint and held for hours after they failed to deliver the Queensbridge MC.

Reps for Allocco tell TMZ that the promoter was working for a local "concert impressario" named Henrique “Riquhino” Miguel, who was more than a little nonplussed about Nas's no show. The rapper and his opening act, Jemiah Jai, were reportedly paid $315k for the NYE bash, but never got on a plane.

To prevent Allocco, an American citizen, from skipping town before the issue of lost funds was settled, Miguel reportedly had the promoter and his son kidnapped at gunpoint and interrogated for seven hours by local authorities. The U.S. Embassy in Angola eventually stepped in and had the Alloccos released, putting them up in a hotel while the parties attempt to work out a resolution.

"The hope is that Nas and Jemiah Jai will return all of the monies that were wired to them immediately so that our ransom may be paid and our safe return to the United States may be facilitated," Allocco's reps said in a statement.

Nas has so far declined to comment on the matter.
