Common Likes Drake's Music, Ready to Move On From Beef
Despite having called Drake out both explicitly and implicitly in the past few months, Common is dialing back some of the heated rhetoric. The veteran rapper and actor recently admitted that he even likes some of his Young Money adversary's music.
"I think he makes good music," Common said in an interview with Rolling Stone. "He's definitely said some real clever things and made some cool songs. I like his music."
Common reiterated that he felt compelled to respond after he heard Drake's verse on "Stay Schemin,'" and said he's ready to let things die down now that he's got it off his chest.
"I feel like I said what I had to say, and I'm just going to let it be at that point," he said. "Now, if something else happens, then I'll just have to act accordingly. But right now, I feel like, man, I said what I needed to say about this situation on record."
Drake, for his part, has remained completely silent on Common's diss, which, among other things, introduced the now infamous nickname, "Canada Dry."
"It's nothing like, 'Oh man, it's so personal,'" Common said of his remarks. "It's just the art of rhyming, man. The art of rhyming!"
