With his name still echoing through the media and the twittersphere, Chris Brown has announced that he'll be back with a new album in just a couple months. The lightning rod singer revealed yesterday that his fifth studio effort, Fortune, is due in stores May 8.

Brown has made headlines recently for his multiple performances at the Grammys, at which he won Best R&B Album, and for two musical collaborations with his ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

Several commentators have spoken out about the reunion, which comes three years after Brown was convicted of assaulting Rihanna in a domestic dispute.

Now, if they’re going to do music together, fine, [but] please don’t go back to him romantically speaking," Wendy Williams said recently. "The girl is too young to be giving a woman-beater a second chance.”

Fortune will serve as the follow-up to last year's F.A.M.E, which debuted at number one on the Billboard Top 200. Yesterday, Brown revealed the cover art for the album on Twitter, which features him in an electric blue suit under neon lights.

"I hope this album shows growth and positivity to all my fans and will inspire them to live life to the fullest!!!" he wrote.
